TJ

Tj has been working on ambulances since he was 10 years old. He started as a St John Ambulance Cadet and worked his way through the ranks. As part of his operational experience he looked after around 250 other volunteers, whilst also pursuing a military career in reconnaissance, dog handling, helicopter rear crew and finally intelligence. Tj now has 15 years as a full time civilian paramedic, and five further years prior to that as an emergency medical technician under his belt.

He left the full time ambulance service in 2014, to pursue specialist paramedics roles, including as a Special Operations Response Team instructor specialising in ebola PPE. As part of his specialist roles, Tj has provided paramedic cover to the stars (Tom Cruise always told him not to name drop!) and has advised on several TV shows which led to him appearing in Eastenders 3 times, the most famous when he was the duff duff character. Recently, Tj has seen the need for reliable medical care. He’s been caring for people all his life and doesn’t think it’s right that people should have to wait for medical help. He recognises that not everyone can pay for this, but those that can will help ease the burden on the NHS and get a premium service. By using My Own Paramedic, they can have the reassurance that a paramedic is available for them, so when they pay the call out fee, they can be with them at the time the appointment is made. He’s registered his company with the care quality commission so he and his paramedic colleagues can provide a contract paramedic service for when you’re unwell.

In his spare time, Tj is a DJ, fosters children (9 and counting) with his wife, enjoys cooking al fresco and is a qualified dolphin trainer.
